Pro-Stretch R & D team have developed a fully woven 100% polyester back neck tape with braille writing, to help people who are visually impaired or who have lost their sight.
We are currently working with the RNIB and Action for Blind people to ensure that our trims will help those who are visually impaired or blind.
As it stands, there are only a few tools for blind people to identify clothing: tags sewn into garments after purchasing or raised identifiable markings drawn onto a garment with a kit and raised key, but hopefully our patented stretch trims can offer an everyday solution to someone with sight loss.
We feel our tape would be a perfect way to give a visually impaired consumer all the information needed for a garment by touch alone. The tape could indicate what type the garment is, what color, what size and style. This would give the buyer greater independence and confidence on a daily basis.
